Siemens has announced a deal to provide components for the Denizli combined cycle power plant in Turkey.

The 775MW plant is being built by Metka for RWE & Turcas Guney Elektrik Uretim in west Anatolia.

The €110m (US$149m) order includes two SGT5-4000F gas turbines, one SST5-5000 steam turbine, three SGen5-1000A air-cooled generators, associated equipment and SPPA-T3000 instrumentation and controls.

In a statement Siemens said that power demand in Turkey is expected to more than double by 2020.

The power plant is due to begin commercial operation in 2012.
