About 110 nations including all major greenhouse gas emitters back the non-binding Copenhagen Accord for combating climate change, according to a first formal UN list out today.

The list, helping end weeks of uncertainty about support for the deal, was issued by the UN Climate Change Secretariat three months after the pact was agreed at the Copenhagen summit.

The accord, falling short of a binding treaty sought by many nations, sets a goal of limiting global warming to below 2°C but does not spell out what each nation must do to achieve this.
