The government said in a statement that the applications will be discussed in a session this afternoon with a news conference to follow.

A government spokesman said he could not speculate on an outcome, reports Reuters.

Three applicants are seeking permission to build reactors: Fortum (FUM1V.HE), Teollisuuden Voima (TVO) and the Fennovoima consortium.
