Autralia Selects Acciona to Build Solar Thermal Project

Solar power company Acciona will build a solar thermal power plant in Australia after winning a bidding round with the Australian Government. The firm said it will use parabolic trough technology to build the 200MW power plant at a single site in Queensland or South Australia.

The firm said it will use parabolic trough technology to build the 200MW power plant at a single site in Queensland or South Australia.

Acciona said it is also considering partnerships with other firms for the project.

Australia’s Solar Flagships Program aims to encourage large-scale solar power generation of up to 1,000MW.
