Dong Energy has sealed a deal for £250m ($365m) from the European Investment Bank (EIB) as part of the financing for the world’s largest offshore wind farm, to be built in the UK.

The first phase of the London Array wind farm will have a generating capacity of 630MW and is expected to begin operation in 2012.

Once complete, London Array will be the world's largest offshore wind farm owned by Dong Energy (50% ), E.ON (30%) and Abu-Dhabi based renewable energy company Masdar (20%).
