Hyundai Heavy Industries Wins Saudi Power Deal

Hyundai Heavy Industries has won a US$1.6bn contract to build a 1,729MW gas-fired power plant in Dhuruma, Saudi Arabia. Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) is the sole engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor on the project commissioned by the Dhuruma Electricity Company. <

Hyundai Heavy Industries has won a US$1.6bn contract to build a 1,729MW gas-fired power plant in Dhuruma, Saudi Arabia.

Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) is the sole engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor on the project commissioned by the Dhuruma Electricity Company.

The company is established by a consortium of the Saudi Electricity Company, GDF Suez Group of France, Aljomaih Holding Company and Japan's Sojitz Corp.

The project involves construction of a 1,729MW gas-fired combined cycle power plant on a turnkey basis, including design, supply, construction, commissioning, testing and handover.

The project is scheduled for completion in 2013.
