Canada’s BC Hydro has awarded Castle Mountain Hydro’s Benjamin Creek run-of-river project an electricity purchase agreement.
The Creek, part of the Clean Power Call project, is expected to generate 27GWh of clean electricity a year.
The Province of British Columbia aims to become electricity self-sufficient by 2016.
The Benjamin Creek project is the 26th project selected for electricity purchase agreements under the Clean Power Call. All such projects are expected to generate over 3,200GWh of electricity per year.
