US-based Emerson Process Management and Korea South East Power Company (KOSEP) have teamed up to modernise existing power plants and build new ones in Korea, the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia and Latin America.

Under the agreement, KOSEP will work on Emerson’s automation, control and instrumentation technologies including its PlantWeb digital plant architecture and Ovation control system.

Emerson and KOSEP will also exchange technology information to improve boiler and turbine efficiency of power plants, Emerson said in a statement.

Over the next ten years, power generation will grow over 25% globally and more than 40% in regions targeted by the firms, according to US Energy Information Administration projections.
