Vattenfall has installed the 100th and final wind turbine on the Thanet Offshore Wind Farm off England, UK.
The wind farm, which is located 12km off the Kent coast, will have 100 Vestas 3MW, V90 wind turbines.
The wind farm will be located in water depths of 20-25m and cover an area of 35km², with each turbine standing 115m tall.
The power plant is expected to be complete in early autumn 2010 and has been under construction since 2008.
Thanet’s 300MW capacity in 2010 will boost the country’s offshore wind capacity by over 30% and generate electricity to supply over 200,000 homes.
