GE will provide gas turbines for the Salalah Independent Water & Power Project (IWPP) in southern Oman for $300m.

For the 445MW power plant, GE will supply five heavy-duty Frame 6FA gas turbines equipped with GE advanced emission control technologies.

Electricity output from the plant will be sold under a 15-year power purchase agreement with Oman Power and Water Procurement Company and Sembcorp Salalah Power & Water Company.

GE has also signed a 15-year service agreement including supply of parts, repairs and field services and will provide performance services for the gas turbine-generators and accessory equipment.
