Constellation Energy has begun commercial dispatch for its Hillabee Power Plant in Alabama, US.
The firm bought the partially completed 740MW combined-cycle natural gas power plant from Calpine Corporation in 2008.
Constellation said its Hillabee Power Plant is a major addition to its portfolio of plants across the country and adds a new facility in a strategic and growing market.
Hillabee will generate power to aid Constellation Energy to satisfy existing customer load obligations and increasing energy demand in the region, the company said in a statement.
