ArcLight Capital Partners has acquired a 640MW power generation facility in Sandersville, Georgia, US, from KGen Power for $130m.

ArcLight has acquired the power generation facility through its wholly-owned subsidiary AL Sandersville from the Texas headquartered power generation company, with $98m credit extended by GE.

The power facility built in 2002 uses eight 80MW gas turbines and supplies power to the southeastern power market, particularly Georgia.

The acquisition will help ArcLight meet peak demand of a city with a population of 450,000.
