Renewable Energy Systems Americas (RES Americas) has been awarded a balance of plant (BOP) construction contract for the Flat Water Wind Project in Nebraska, US.

Located in southern Nebraska, the 60MW project will comprise 40 1.5MW GE wind turbines and have the capacity to power over 16,000 homes with clean, renewable energy.

Power from the wind project will be purchased by Omaha Public Power District.

Flat Water Wind Farm is the owner and operator of the project and is associated with a tri-party partnership between Gallop Power, Gestamp Wind North America, a subsidiary of Gestamp Renewables, and Banco Santander.

Currently, work on the project is underway and it is expected to be completed by December 2010.
