SunPower has completed a 505KW solar power installation for Horizon Power in Western Australia.
The ground-mounted SunPower T20 tracker installation is located on two sites: Marble Bar and Nullagine in Western Australia, and was commissioned earlier this year.
The system is the largest solar tracking system in Australia and powers the world’s first high-penetration, hybrid solar diesel-power stations, Sunpower claims.
The power stations will generate about 1,048MWh of solar energy per year and will produce 60 to 90% of daily electricity needs.
The T20 Tracker follows the sun’s movement during the day to capture 30% more sunlight than conventional fixed-tilt systems, while reducing land-use requirements.
