Bosch Solar Energy has unveiled its new crystalline solar cell production plant, the first phase in the extension of its solar production facilities in Arnstadt, Germany.
The new facilities will enable Bosch to provide added capacity of 10,000 cells an hour, translating to about 90 million solar cells a year.
The new 12,000m² plant also includes part of the wafer production.
With the facility, Bosch Solar Energy said it is moving towards an integrated factory to help unite all steps in the production process – from silicon ingots to finished modules.
Bosch Solar Energy seeks to almost triple its nominal capacity to about 630MW peak with the new facility, which is expected to be completed in summer 2011.
