Enviva and GDF Suez subsidiary Electrabel have signed a long-term contract for the supply of wood pellets for biomass power plants.

Under the contract, Enviva will supply 480,000mt of wood pellets annually to Electrabel's biomass power-generating facilities in Belgium.

Enviva chairman and CEO John Keppler said that with increasing demand for renewable fuel worldwide, the US biomass market is poised for tremendous growth.
