Gamesa will supply wind turbines totalling 258MW of installed capacity for nine Iberdrola Renovables wind farms being developed in Brazil.

The firm will provide 129 wind power generators of its G8X turbine model with a 2MW unit capacity over the next two years (2011-2012).

Under the contract, Gamesa will supply, transport and erect the turbines as well as carry out start-up and maintenance work over a two-year period.

In a recent joint venture, Iberdrola Renovables and Neoenergía won a bid to build 258MW of installed wind capacity in Brazil from the country's electricity regulator Agencia Nacional de Energía Elétrica (ANEEL).
