Schneider Electric is building a 43MW photovoltaic power plant in the Puglia region of Italy, under a EPC contract from AES Solar Energy.
The power plant will have a yearly power output of 56GWh to meet the needs of 40,000 inhabitants and avoid 28,000t of carbon emissions.
The solar park will consist of 600,000 solar panels over 250 acres.
Schneider Electric will implement an integrated, end-to-end solution and will act as the sole contact for plant management for AES SOLE Italia.
The firm’s products and services will include engineering studies, project and construction management, supply and erection of mechanical structures, inverter substations and grid connection substations, and a general monitoring system for the power plant.
It will also provide operating and maintenance services to guarantee the global performance of the system, i.e. the number of KWh actually supplied to the grid by the power plant according to the energy produced by the solar panels.
