Swiss company Etrion has completed the last portion of its acquisition of the 33MW Montalto solar power plant from SunPower.

The acquisition is valued at €49m ($67.1m) along with the assumption of the related non-recourse loan facilities.

The 33MW solar power plant is expected to produce over 55 million kilowatt hours of electricity.

Consisting of two projects on the same site in the Lazio region of Italy, the acquisition includes 24MW, which was connected to the grid in November 2009, and 9MW, which was connected in August this year.

The projects are ground-based solar photovoltaic power plants that use SunPower's high-efficiency PV modules and single-axis tracker technology.
