Bella Energy has completed the installation of a 1.65MW photovoltaic (PV) solar array atop the Calvin L. Rampton Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, US.
The project covers 3.85 acres of rooftop and is currently the largest solar photovoltaic system on Rocky Mountain Power's electric grid and the largest solar array in the State of Utah.
Bella Energy executive vice president, Andrew McKenna, said: "Financing this project required a lot of sweat equity and 14 months of hard work to develop a funding package that would satisfy the needs of each party."
The array, financed partly by public and private capital and partly by grants and bonds, is equipped with 6,006 solar PV modules and is expected to have an output of 2.3m kWh per year.
Mayor Corroon of Salt Lake County said: "This solar project boosts the county's clean energy goals while benefiting our pocketbooks."
Construction work on the solar project started in December 2011 and was completed in about six months.
