NEM USA has been awarded a contract to supply two Benson heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs) to the 758MW Panda Temple Power Project being built in Texas, US.

NEM USA has been awarded a contract to supply two Benson heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs) for the 758MW Panda Temple Power Project being built in Texas, US.

Siemens has selected NEM to combine the efficiencies of the NEM HRSGs and Siemens gas turbines in potentially the cleanest fossil-fuel plants in the US.

“The natural gas-fired combined cycle plant will be able to begin generating power within just ten minutes of start-up.”

NEM said its HRSGs with their supplementary firing and the specific characteristics of the Benson type were crucial to the advanced characteristics of the Siemens Flex-PlantTM 30.

In addition, the natural gas-fired combined cycle plant will be able to begin generating power within just ten minutes of start-up, while HRSGs adds to the production of electricity.

The power plant will be able to supply the power needs of about 750,000 homes in the central and north Texas regions.

NEM USA is continuing to expand operations and currently has more than 60 HRSGs in use in the US, including two new DrumPlus quick start HRSGs being constructed at the El Segundo site in California.
