The Shaw Group has secured a contract to provide maintenance services for Saudi Electricity Company's 37 oil and gas-fired power plants, located throughout Saudi Arabia.
The Shaw Group will implement a asset management and performance diagnostic programme to address issues on safety, maintenance, staffing, benchmarking and corporate environmental problems.
The value of the contract has not been disclosed.
Shaw Group chairman, president and CEO, J M Bernhard Jr, said the asset management and performance diagnostic programme is designed to advance Saudi Electricity Company's power plant operations and maintenance to international best practices.
"Shaw's proven technical and operational expertise in power generation services continues to be an asset to Saudi Electricity Company in its plans to transform the electricity industry and provide greater network reliability for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia," said Bernhard Jr.
Saudi Electricity Company awarded a multi-phase study to the Shaw group to define and recommend operational upgrades at its power plants in April 2010.
