Description

The project was developed by Yunus Energy. The project is co-owned by Gadoon Textile Mills, Lucky Cement, Lucky Energy (pvt) and Yunus Textile Mills, with their respective ownership stake of 20% each.

The project generates 138,900MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 60,000 households, offsetting 85,756t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.

The project has 80m high towers.

The project is currently active. The project got commissioned in September 2016.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to National Transmission & Despatch under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years, starting from 2016.

Contractors involved

Descon Engineering and Nordex were selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the wind power project.

Nordex was selected as the turbine supplier for the wind power project. The company provided 20 units of N100 (2.5 MW) turbines, each with 2.5MW nameplate capacity.

Descon Engineering and Nordex were contracted to render operations & maintenance services for the project.
