TransCanada Corporation’s $700m Halton Hills Generating Station (HHGS) in Canada has become operational.

The $700m station will operate under a 20-year power purchase arrangement with the Ontario Power Authority.

The 683MW natural gas-fired power plant in Halton Hills, Ontario, has the capacity to generate enough power to meet the needs of about 700,000 homes.

The high-efficiency combined-cycle plant uses low-emissions technology to meet high environmental standards.
