Sempra Generation has received approval from the Kern County Board of Supervisors to build a new photovoltaic solar power plant in California’s Antelope Valley, US.
Rosamond Solar will generate up to 200MW, enough to power about 76,000 average homes for a year.
Work on the project is expected to begin in 2012 and will be completed in 2013.
The plant will use photovoltaic solar-panel technology and will be Sempra Generation’s fourth utility-scale solar power project.
