A Global Power Group subsidiary has been awarded a contract to design and supply a solar steam generator system for a solar thermal power plant located in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
The company will also provide preheaters, drum-type evaporators, superheaters, interconnecting piping, valves, primary I&C, steel structures, and site advisory services.
The equipment will be integrated into a solar thermal power plant using concentrated parabolic trough technology and will have an installed power output capacity of 100MWe.
Delivery of the equipment is scheduled for the third quarter of 2011.
Eric Svendsen, CEO of Foster Wheeler Energia, the owner of Global Power Group, said the plant was the first step towards the introduction of sustainable energy sources and a strategic development for the country.
