Southern California Edison’s (SCE) third solar power plant, built on top of a 40,505m² facility in Rialto, California, US, has come onstream.
Power from the 16,300 advanced solar panels installed on the facility, owned by AMB Property, is connected to the utility’s nearest neighbourhood circuit.
SCE chairman and chief executive officer Alan Fohrer said that the project is part of company’s ongoing capital investment in clean generation and smart grid technologies to meet its customers’ future energy needs.
The utility completed three similar installations in Fontana and Chino in the past two years.
