Detroit Edison has announced its plans to invest $100m to construct a second-generation solar energy facility in Michigan, US.
The installation of 270 solar panels, including 60 that track movement of the sun, will be operated by Ranck Electric.
The company’s SolarCurrents programme calls for the systems to be installed on utility- or customer-owned property or rooftops over the next five years.
The systems are set to generate 20MW of electricity throughout Southeast Michigan.
