US-based Solar Power Partners (SPP) and Canada-based JCM Capital have developed a fund to finance, construct, own and operate 200MW of photovoltaic solar projects in Ontario, Canada.

The fund will be used to install solar projects on commercial and industrial buildings across Ontario.

The fund will also use the state’s feed-in-tariff programme with solar power purchase agreements (PPA) from the Ontario Power Authority.

Solar Power Partners president and CEO Bob Powell said that the venture represents the firm’s expansion into international feed-in-tariff markets.

SPP and JCM will begin the construction work on about 20MW of the projects in 2011.
