Vestas will supply 24 V90-1.8MW turbines for Oak Glen Wind Farm in Minnesota, US.

Oak Glen Wind Farm is a subsidiary of the Minnesota Municipal Power Agency (MMPA) and Avant Energy is managing the project.

The contract will cover delivery and commissioning of the turbines and a five-year service and maintenance agreement.

Vestas expects to deliver the turbines in late summer 2011 and commission them by the end of next year.

Vestas Americas president Martha Wyrsch said that the V90-1.8MW turbine is specifically designed to provide maximum power output at sites with medium wind speeds.

“Minnesota is one of the leading states for wind power, and we are excited to help create more clean, reliable energy here. This project will also result in construction jobs and long-term local maintenance positions to be hired by Vestas,” Wyrsch said.
