Twin Creeks Technologies has begun work on a new 100MW solar cell and panel manufacturing plant in Perak High Tech Park in Ipoh, Malaysia.
The 23,225m² facility, named the Twin Creeks Malaysia, (TCMSB) is a joint venture between Twin Creeks Technologies and The Red Solar, an associate company of the Perak State Economic Development.
The facility will increase the production of Twin Creeks’ proprietary crystalline silicon photovoltaic technology to meet the growing solar market in Malaysia and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations countries.
In the first phase of production, the plant will have a 100MW capacity that will reach 500MW of crystalline silicon-based solar cell and panel capacity following an expansion.
TCMSB is expected to be operational by 2012 and will have immediate grid parity with conventional means of producing electricity.
