MYR Group will construct and rebuild transmission lines throughout northeastern Maine in the New England region of the US for Central Maine Power Company, an Iberdrola USA subsidiary.
The $200m contract includes 210 miles of 345KV and 115KV transmission lines and the Northern Loop of the $1.4bn Maine Power Reliability Program (MPRP).
Under the contract, MYR Transmission Services (MYRT), a MYR subsidiary, will provide transmission line construction services including environmental controls, foundation installation, structure installation and conductor stringing for the new line segments.
The work will enable Central Maine Power to improve the reliability of its bulk electric transmission system and improve Maine’s access to greater sources of renewable energy.
Construction is expected to begin in early 2011 and be complete in 2014.
