Aggreko will be the exclusive supplier of Temporary Energy Services for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Under the £37m ($57m) contract by the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG), Aggreko will provide power across 39 venues in seven different locations: London, Cardiff, Coventry, Glasgow, Manchester, Newcastle and Weymouth.
The power will be provided by generators at each venue, distributed through 1,000km of cable and 3,500 distribution panels.
Aggreko will manufacture most of the equipment for the project at its factory in Scotland.
Aggreko equipment will also be used to power field-of-play lighting and camera equipment in the various stadia powering the International Broadcasting Centre.
