Vestas has secured an order from Winbis through Ansaldo Energia to deliver 22 wind turbines for the Italy-based Bisaccia Wind Farm.
The V90-3.0MW wind turbines for the Bisaccia Wind Farm will be installed in the municipality of Bisaccia in Campania, Italy.
The Bisaccia wind power plant has an estimated annual production of 116,000MWh per year and the farm is expected to save the environment from more than 45,000t of CO2 emissions per year.
Vestas received the contract through a temporary business association established with General Construction.
Vestas will supply, install and commission the turbines and foundations, and the contract includes a ten-year service agreement.
The delivery and installation of the wind turbines is expected to start in 2011 and General Construction will take care of the wind power plant’s balance of plant.
