Gamesa will supply wind turbines, with a total capacity of 10MW, for a wind farm being constructed by Western Wind Energy in Arizona, US.

Under the contract, Gamesa will be responsible for the installation of five G90-2.0MW wind turbines on 78m towers in April 2011.

Power generated from the project will be sold to UniSource Electric.

Money from the Section 1603 Program will be used by Western Wind Energy to fund some of the expenses of the wind farm’s construction.

The programme was created as part of the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act of February 2009.
