REpower Systems will supply 150 wind turbines with a total capacity of 300MW for the Lac Alfred wind farm project in Canada to Saint-Laurent Energies Consortium (SLE).
REpower will deliver, install and commission 54 MM82 turbines and 96 MM92 turbines in two phases.
At the Lac Alfred facility located 400km north-west of Quebec City, Canada, the first 75 turbines will be commissioned by December 2012 and the remaining 75 turbines by 2013.
REpower will use turbines from the MM series with a hub height of 80m and a rated power of 2MW each.
REpower systems chief technology officer Matthias Schubert said that the company would use turbines of special cold climate versions that can tolerate humid Canadian weather with heavy temperature fluctuations.
