ACCIONA Energy has started the construction of a 132MW Dempsey Ridge Wind Farm in Oklahoma, US.
The farm will be located about 15 miles west of ACCIONA Energy’s 123MW Red Hills Wind Farm in Roger Mills County.
The firm has engaged MA Mortensen to lead the construction of the plant, which will consist of 66 wind turbines, located over a 44km² rural area.
The Dempsey facility is expected to generate electricity to power 46,000 homes in Oklahoma and the surrounding states, and reduce CO2 emissions by 339,000 metric tons every year.
The construction of the plant is expected to be completed in one year and is set to generate more than $20m in tax revenue for the County.
