Colorado State University (CSU) has completed the construction of a 5.3MW solar plant near the university’s Foothills Campus, in partnership with Forowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV).

The solar plant, owned and operated by FRV, has been constructed in two phases, of which the first phase was designed and installed by AMEC in 2009.

The Wattsun dingle-axis has been constructed by Array Technologies for increased efficiency and production.

The second phase has been built by Global Energy Services, which installed the solar panels on racks manufactured by Macapisa.

The project has been funded in by Xcel Energy in partnership with FRV, and CSU has agreed to purchase the electricity generated from the plant for 20 years.
