E.ON has received an approval from the Department for Energy and Climate Change to construct a 230MW wind farm off the coast of Humberside, England.
The wind farm will be located 8km off the Holderness Coast in the East Riding of Yorkshire.
The Humber Gateway wind farm will generate clean, renewable energy from up to 77 turbines to power up to around 150,000 homes, according to E.ON.
Once operational, Humber Gateway will be E.ON’s fifth offshore wind farm in the UK.
UK Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change Chris Huhne said that a new wind farm will boost jobs and investment for the region.
