Marubeni has signed a contract worth JPY31b ($370m) with Electricity Generation Company of Bangladesh (EGCB) for the construction of a 400MW New Haripur Combined Cycle Power Plant.
Under the terms of the turn-key contract, Marubeni will carry out engineering, procurement, delivery of the equipment, and the construction and installation work.
The construction will be supported by Japanese ODA Loan funded from the Japanese Government through Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) and Fuji Electric Systems will supply the gas turbine generator and the steam turbine generator respectively, according to Marubeni.
