Eneco, one of the firms that secured the right to develop wind farms from UK’s Crown estate, has confirmed the location for its Isle of Wight wind farm.
The wind farm will have a capacity between 900MW and 1,200MW covering 76 square miles of the coast, according to Business Green.
The utility is set to conduct a formal consultation as required by the 2009 Planning Act, to begin construction in 2016 and bring the plant online in 2019.
Earlier, Eneco underwent a Zone Appraisal and Planning (ZAP) process to identify the exact location of the project.
