Vattenfall has signed contract with Swire Blue Ocean (SBO) for a vessel, which will transport 80 Siemens wind turbines to its DanTysk offshore wind farm in the North Sea.
Vattenfall and Stadtwerke München will build the DanTysk offshore wind farm as a joint project.
At present the vessel, Pacific Orca, is being built by Samsung Heavy Industries in South Korea to be delivered in 2012.
Beginning in 2013, Pacific Orca will load the wind turbines in Esbjerg, Denmark, and transport it to DanTysk construction site, 69km west of the island of Sylt in the North Sea, on the border between Germany and Denmark.
