Aboitiz Power plans to increase the capacity of the Sibulan hydroelectric plant in Davao del by 13.6MW from the existing 42.5MW.

Plans cover the construction of the Tuduya Project, an expansion of the Sibulan project, under which the first unit will generate 6.6MW and the second unit will generate 7MW.

The first unit will be built upstream, while the second will be situated downstream and the firm will complete the Taduya project before building another 11MW hydropower facility.

Aboitiz Power senior vice-president Luis Miguel Aboitiz said the project may take two years for completion and both the projects are run-of-river generating facilities.

Hedcor Sibulan will operate the Sibulan facility.
