ABB will build a 24.2MW photovoltaic solar power plant for Phenix Renewables in Lazio, central Italy.
The solar plant will generate up to 35GWh of electricity a year and avert over 25,000t of CO2 emissions.
Under the contract, ABB will design, engineer and install the plant, and be responsible for its civil works and commissioning.
The firm’s modular electrical balance of plant concept will enable fast track execution within four months.
The plant will feature single-axis trackers, low- and medium-voltage switchgear, transformers, cables, automation, control system and protection equipment.
ABB will also construct a 150kV substation to ease the integration of electrical power generated from the solar panels into the grid.
Renewable Energy Corporation and ABB will provide the PV panels for the project.
