Alstom Power is to retrofit a 200MW steam turbine for GDF Suez Energia Polska’s Polaniec power plant in Poland.

Under the terms of the agreement, Alstom will design, manufacture and install commission new high-pressure and intermediate pressure steam turbines.

Alstom will also modernise turbine auxiliary systems and assembly of the steam turbines, generator and exciter systems.

The modernised turbine will enter into service in October 2012.

The new turbine components will raise turbine cycle efficiency by 3.4%, and will extend the turbines design life by 30 years.
