Andritz Hydro will provide two Francis turbines and generators to extend the Mica hydropower plant in British Columbia, Canada, for €110m ($155m).
Andritz will provide installation and commissioning of two large Francis turbines each with a production capacity of 520.3MW.
The turbines will have a runner diameter of 5,600mm and a unit weight of over 130t.
The Mica hydropower station was first commissioned in 1976 and houses four 444MW Francis turbines and generators.
The original plant had provision for two additional units that will be installed during the current extension project.
