Denmark-based Babcock & Wilcox Vølund received a $30m contract to supply components for the expansion of a waste-to-energy, combined heat and power plant in Lidköping, Sweden.

Under the contract, the company will design and supply a boiler, combustion system, emissions control components and other equipment for the plant.

The waste-to-energy plant is owned by Lidköping Värmeverk and produces electricity, hot water and district heating.

Engineering work is currently underway at the plant, which is scheduled to be complete in 2013.
