DeWind has acquired the rights for a 20MW Frisco wind project in Texas, US, from Distributed Wind Systems.
The company plans to install ten of its 2MW D8.2 wind turbines at the project site, which will be supplied by US-based contractor TECO-Westinghouse.
The Frisco facility will be located near DeWind’s 20MW Little Pringle project, adding to the renewable energy project portfolio of the company in the Northern Texas Panhandle.
DeWind CEO and president Robert Rugh said the acquisition is an extension to the programme that aims to establish a healthy wind turbine business in the US for DeWind, and set the foundation for future growth to meet the long-range objectives set by DSME.
DeWind, a wholly owned subsidiary of Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering, designs, produces and sells DeWind series wind energy turbines.
