Infinis has acquired a 100% stake in three wind farms owned by Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE) in the UK.

The wind farms have a combined generating capacity of 96.8MW.

Infinis made a cash payment of £173.6m ($282.55m) to SSE in consideration for the transaction.

The three farms include the Dalswinton (30MW) and Minsca (36.8MW) in Scotland and Slieve Divena (30MW) in Northern Ireland.

A third party will secure power generated from the two Scottish plants while SSE will buy power generated from the Irish wind farm through a new power purchase agreement.

SSE finance director Gregor Alexander said the sale is consistent with its long-term growth plan of optimising the company’s wind farm portfolio in the UK and Ireland.
