ACCIONA Energy’s Wind Park Commences Operations in Canada

ACCIONA Energy has begun operations at its 45MW Lameque wind park in New Brunswick, Canada.

ACCIONA Infrastructure, in a temporary consortium with the Tetra Tech, constructed the $119m wind farm on the Acadia peninsula.

Tetra tech was responsible for the civil work, assembly of turbines and electric power delivery infrastructures.

The facility is equipped with 30 1.5MW wind turbines, supplied by ACCIONA Windpower.

NB Power has signed a long-term power agreement for the purchase of the power generated from the plant.

Cooperative d’Energie Renouvelable de Lameque also worked in collaboration with ACCIONA to develop the project.

The Canadian Government has extended financial support of $14.31m for the plant under the ecoEnergy for Renewable Power programme.
